Here is my Spanish review, without my much revision and being out of practise. Yo empeze estudiar Espanol con Carlos hace...5 anos! En un professor de idiomas es importante tener muchas cosas y para mi Carlos tiene todos esos. Primera, el tiene El conocimiento y utiles para ensenar, segunda El es muy professional, Tercera, El tiene mucha pacienca, que fue muy importante para mi por que no soy buen estudiente jaja. Ademas yo estaba viajando y estaba estudando otras idiomas. La ultima cosa es que El es una Buena y interesente persona, que claro es muy importante si vas a pasar horas hablando con alguien. Creo que puede lleverse bien con muchas personsas. Preuba una hora con Carlos y Mira para ti mismo no vas a repentir!

I met Carlos as a tutor under a personal recommendation from someone, and we decided to have a trial first lesson and see how that goes. Carlos took the time to understand my level of Spanish, because I had some basic knowledge of it before arriving in Colombia.

We agreed that the lessons would take place at my house, and he always comes prepared with some printouts and learning materials for me.

He’s very respectful of one’s time, and very punctual, which I like. If, he’s running late, he will let me know immediately, even if it is a matter of five minutes.

He has a good grasp of the English language, and helps me understand how certain rules of the Spanish language apply, by giving me examples in English when necessary.

He encourages me to find the words and answers myself, rather than spoon feeding me.

He pays attention to detail, including keeping an eye on everything I write, and correcting me when I’m wrong. This gives me a lot of confidence in him, and shows me that I am getting his undivided attention and focus.

He injects humour and real life conversations into our interaction everyday, which makes the classes with him very enjoyable. I feel as though I am making progress without experiencing it in a labourious way.

Studying in isolation can mean you miss out on the opportunity to meet other students, but Carlos organises events from time to time, where we get to experience something cultural, and all come together. Recently I attended a football match which Carlos had organised tickets for, and over there I met some of his other private students, whom I now have as new friends.

I had initially signed up for roughly 2 weeks of classes, but have decided to extend my lessons with Carlos, because I’m enjoying them so much and he keeps me motivated. Carlos was agreeable to offering a discount for longer bookings.

However, if there were days where I didn’t feel well or I needed a rest day from studying, Carlos would encourage me to take the time off so that I can process everything I have learnt and to rest my mind. This obviously meant he would not get paid because the lesson would not take place, but it goes to show that his priority is to ensure that his students are getting the best out of the lessons they are paying for.

Best of all, he never takes things for granted and has checked with me several times whether I am happy with the way the classes are structured, the way he is delivering the lessons, and the pace that we are going at. In this sense, his focus on customer satisfaction is top notch.

I have a huge amount of respect for Carlos as a person, and as a professional. I have no doubt that he will continue to do well in this venture because he enjoys teaching, and does it with dedication. I would highly recommend him.

Carlos has been my Spanish language teacher for a couple of years now. He is an excellent teacher, and is also very patient, supportive and encouraging. I also really appreciate his flexibility with scheduling. I have learned a great deal by working with Carols and now feel much more confident in communicating with people.

I have been working with Carlos for 2 years and can not recommend him enough! He is a fantastic teacher and cares deeply about his student's learning the language. His passion is evident in every class he teaches. He is patient yet strict when needed.

As an added bonus, my girlfriend and I were able to meet Carlos in person while in Medellin! Carlos is a great teacher and an even better dad, husband and person! A++++++++++++

Carlos helped me immensely in learning Spanish. He was my teacher circa ~2014 when I came to Colombia.

I thought it would take years to learn Spanish, as I had already failed after taking it for multiple years in high school.

But in just a few months with Carlos, I was able to get over the "hump" of learning and get into conversational mode where I can speak and understand functionally.

Learning from Carlos via private lessons, my Spanish vocabulary, grammar, speaking and listening skills all improved rapidly.

The vast majority of the improvement happened in ~3 months while taking 1 hour classes 3X per week. I would suggest this to anyone.

I used the Spanish that I learned from Carlos to approach a girl at a concert and now 9 years later we're married, so yeah it worked great.

(He also helped out my wife with her English as well!)

If you get the OPPORTUNITY to work with Carlos, I would highly advise you to take it.

I had a bunch of different Spanish teachers in different countries when I was trying to learn, but Carlos was without a doubt the best! He kept the classes moving so it never got boring, used some great techniques to get us talking and conversing in Spanish (so because I wanted to communicate something, I remembered it better, instead of simply being obliged to complete the exercise) - and he had plenty of games and other ways of taking me around the city to learn instead of staying in the classroom all day. Really, the classes were super dynamic and fun, and I really looked forward to going to them. Highly, highly recommend Carlos !

Carlos is an exceptional Spanish teacher whom I discovered through a highly recommended Facebook group. In the 1.5 years I've been taking classes with him, I've found his teaching style to be fantastic. He effortlessly breaks down complex grammar topics, making them easy to understand and enjoyable. Carlos customizes lessons based on your goals, helping you progress rapidly. His conversational approach provides both practice and fun. I've recommended him to several friends, and they have all been delighted with his service. I wholeheartedly endorse Carlos as a skilled and personable Spanish teacher.

Carlos is the best instructor ever? Becoming his student was one of the smartest est decisions I ever made. I’ve gone from a 2.5 to an 8 in a very short time thanks to Carlos. His style is amazing and his knowledge superb. I highly recommend him.

When I first arrived in Colombia I had little to no Spanish. Within a few weeks of classes with Carlos I was having full conversations with native speakers. I now live in Spain and thanks to Carlos I am able to engage fully in the local community (albeit with a slight paisa accent ). Carlos has a natural ability to make learning the language fun and easy, always coming up with creative ways of teaching. His passion for teaching and the language itself is infectious. Carlos was a great teacher and is now a great friend who I regularly keep in contact with. I highly recommend Carlos to anyone looking to learn Spanish at whatever level.

Carlos is a great great teacher! I really enjoyed my classes with him and I learned a bunch! He explains grammar and vocabulary in a easy and comprehensive way, and the way he structures the classes was tailored to my level of Spanish and my way of learning which really enabled me to improve quickly. It has been a joy learning Spanish from Carlos. I have been taking classes for around 4 months and have noticed an improvement in my fluidity when speaking. I started as an intermediate speaker, and had no idea of the tiny mistakes I continuously made. There was a lot of unlearning that I had to do, which while difficult, was easier with Carlos. He flows with your learning style and is so easy to work with. Also, we've dialogued so much about Latin and American culture, our conversations are never stale.

Ahora podemos conversar sobre diferentes temas y puedo seguir toda la conversación. Carlos is the best! I take Spanish lessons 5 days a week, so it was important for me to find a teacher that I actually like talking to everyday. I went through two other teachers before I found Carlos. Now we've been working together for 2 years, and I've never been more satisfied with a tutor. He's very flexible, patient, and clearly loves his work. His Spanish is clear and easy to understand, and he speaks perfect English also. I would highly recommend him to anybody, at any speaking level.
