Sobre Agustina

I have worked in a school for four years, job which I enjoyed very much. In addition to that I have been working freelance helping students with special needs as a tutor. I found this very gratifying because I could see the improvements from the kids. I really love working with children, so I know that working in a school environment is going to be an amazing experience for me.
I am a Spanish native speaker and I am studying French and Italian.
My experience working at a school includes administrative and academic work, as well as support to the head masters office. I had regular contact with alumni, the parents and the professionals working at the institution.
I have always liked teaching. Since I was very young I used to help my friends at school with homework and to study for the tests. As I grew up I found that teaching was my passion. My Professor at Secondary School suggested to other younger students for lessons to improve in their subjects.
At the age of 18 I started working at Arrayanes as a Teaching Assistant for 1st form students. I had to help the teacher in the adaptation process from kinder to primary school. While working there I learnt how to work with students with disabilities and learning difficulties, taking care of each student as an individual person and helping them through their learning abilities. This I enjoyed immensely.
Whilst working for several years at Arrayanes School this gave different techniques, so when I moved on from Arrayanes I was ready to be a tutor:
I started taking students. The lessons were enjoyable and effective: with my help, students had to organise their agenda and check dates of exams and homework, after that we would discuss what was priority and non-priority. At the end of the lessons we would organise what they needed to work on at home before they came back to me. The lessons were successful and I had many students, some with learning difficulties where I worked alongside therapists and teachers, having meetings and arranging the method of teaching for each of them.
Apart from working in a School environment, I have other experiences working with children and large groups.
I started training as a roller skater by the age of 5 years old. It started as an after school activity, but as the years passed I became passionate about it. After years of training I finally got into the Province team, in which I trained to go to the national competition. This experience taught me many things. Some years later, my trainer chose me to take her place while she was on maternity leave and help her after she gave birth. I really enjoyed that opportunity because I discovered the feeling of transmitting my knowledge of something I love.
While finishing secondary School I joined a group of youth in Stella Maris Church, together with some friends. Our task was planning weekly speeches and organising games. The aim was helping them to have a responsible life.
After some years of studying at university, Gabriel Martinez Riva, who had been my professor, asked me to become a junior lecturer in micro-economics. My duties were marking exercises and giving feedback, delegating coursework, providing advice and education.

Currently I am teaching Spanish in to a small group of adults and I am doing evening courses. When I arrived in London, I faced some difficulties with the language. Although I have been attending a bilingual school since kinder, the fact that I live in a Latin country did not allow me to improve enough. Then I decided to do some online courses at future learn as Multilingual Learning for a Globalized World(University of Glasgow), Dyslexia and Foreign Language Teaching(Lancaster University), Understanding Language: Learning and Teaching

(University of Southampton)Education for All: Disability, Diversity and Inclusion (University of Cape Town) and Understanding public financial management (SOAS, University of London).
Currently I am looking for an opportunity to get into teaching.
I appreciate your time and consideration and look forward to meeting you.
