Sobre Lindsay
Hi, I'm Lindsay and I was born and raised on the West Coast of Canada. I grew up in a small town right on the ocean, on the edge of a great pine forest. The cultural makeup of my little town was quite homogenous, so when I moved to Vancouver to attend Simon Fraser University, I was thrilled to meet and make friends with people from all over the world - from Egypt to Mexico to Germany - I just loved connecting with people from different cultures - and learning their languages. It's little wonder then that after I graduated I moved to Taiwan to teach English in a very different culture. During my time there I also started singing in a jazz band, as music has always been a passion of mine. After that I enjoyed spending time in Costa Rica, Mexico, Spain, and Croatia. I love to cook, I've written a children's novel, I love to dance, I am fascinated by visual art and design, and in general, I'm a voracious learner who is always listening to a podcast on anthropology or social science or an audio book on how to create better habits. This gives me a wealth of fascinating stuff to base some of our classes on. Tambien debo mencionar que hablo español con un nivel intermedio/alto intermedio...pero vas a aprender a pensar en inglés, entonces durante nuestras clases, no vamos a traducir ni hablar en español.
I've been teaching for over 15 years, and while the majority of my focus has been teaching adults, the time I spent teaching children and teens also helped inform my methodology. Whatever your age, whatever your background, an English lesson has to be interesting, dynamic and engaging. It must be based on authentic materials. Also, review and repetition are essential to cementing new vocabulary and grammar structures. While this may sound contradictory, it's actually not - the key is to incorporate review in a creative and relevant way.
I have a degree in English Literature from Simon Fraser University, as well as a TESOL certificate from a one year full time program at this same institution. I'm also a qualified and experienced Cambridge (FCE) Speaking Examiner.

Mis clases están estructuradas y creo actividades basadas en materiales auténticos como artículos de periódicos, podcasts, series de Netflix, etc. También, mando tarea después de cada clase, para que puedas practicar y revisar en su tiempo libre. Entiendo que tengas un horario lleno, y que todos nos encantamos un super precio. Por eso manejo clases de 40 minutos por solo 160 MXN, y todo es por Zoom. Ofrezco clases de 40 minutos en grupos de 2 maximo por solo $260 - porque quien no quiere ahorrar tiempo y dinero? No hay que llevar tu propia pareja, yo armo los grupitos por nivel. Asi que, puedes conocer a alguien nuevo, mientras mejorando fluidez en inglés!
Si te gustaria una clase individual, la tarifa esta en $520 por una clase de 40 minutos.
