Sobre Hugo
Hi! My name is Hugo, a 25-year-old native Spanish speaker (and hopefully, your future teacher). After graduating in English Philology and in a master's degree in Professional Translation, I worked for some time as an English teacher in my hometown, just to find out that I kind of liked that too much. When I was younger, I always had a tough time with language learning, until I began to make friends from other countries who did not understand my language. That's when I discovered that you cannot learn a language just like any other skills, as it requires some extra passion and motivation to do so. Thus, I began teaching English and Spanish as some sort of hobby by just chatting with my students and solving the doubts they had during our conversations, which turned out to be much more efficient than sitting in front of a grammar book. After realizing that, I began to prioritize interactive lessons above everything else while still teaching the theoretical aspects of the language. So, all in all, you could expect these lessons to be a hybrid between chatting with your friend while also learning and adapting your brain to a new language.

Greetings! My name is Hugo, a 25-year-old native Spanish. I have been teaching both English and Spanish to people of all ages for 2 years now. To keep it brief, I have a degree in English Philology and a master’s degree in professional Translation, so at least there is some official background, hehe. As someone who has been teaching mainly in schools and language academies, I have come to realize that the best way of learning a language is by enjoying the process instead of making it an obligation. To do that, I encourage my students to talk to me as they would talk to a friend: casual "chit chat", anecdotes, dreams, and so on. Obviously, it depends on the type of person you are and also on what you are looking forward to learning (speaking comprehension, writing skills, technical vocabulary, etc.). So, all in all, I can help you prepare for your language accreditation exams (up to C1) as well as help you out to loosen up in terms of speaking fluency.
