Sobre Sibel
I hold a Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering from Istanbul Technical University (2012). After my graduation, I proceeded to work at different levels of profit-oriented organizations and companies mainly in the media and market research industries. Passionate about the culture and writing, I also served as publishing editor at several magazines. I hold a M.A. in Sociology and Demography from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Spain, 2015) with the thesis focusing on the leisure time management of the full-time employed couples. Currently, Fatma Sibel is a Ph.D. candidate at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and work as media relations assistant at FocusEconomics, which provides monthly reports covering macro-economic indicators. My thesis focuses on the effect of social changes on the cultural tastes and her academic interests cover mainly social inequality, the sociological study of culture, social mobility, and social class. I also deeply interested in big data analysis, statistics, and quantitative research methods, and enthusiastic about the combine my analytical background with social science with the aims of providing novel scientific research.
